I don’t know how the rest of you feel about Gabby Douglas but this girl has kept me in tears since Team USA took the floor for the first time in London. She has such a beautiful spirit and her talent is out of this world. I’m so happy that she was able to make her dreams come true and made history in the process. She is indeed a hometown hero (she hails from Virginia Beach)!

Congratulations Gabby, the first African-American woman to win Olympic All-Around Gold!

OK OK OK, we know. It’s been a while. BUT, we’re finally bringing you something that we just know you’re going to LOVE.

We just finished our very first designer collaboration with Areeyal Goodwin, designer of the unique jewelry line, BeadsbyAree. Since we made you wait so long, the least we could do is give you a sneak peak of the FAB collab collection, right?

Craze ladies Brianna Ruff and Chey Parker headed the photoshoot this month with three amazing Virginia-based models, Chelsea Davis, Shaniqua Wallace and Nicole Harris and photographer Alyssa Ki.

With the help of a wonderful make-up artist and our close friend, celebrity stylist Roderick Hawthorne, the photoshoot was a big success.

Craze Hits the Runway at The Fifteenth Fashion Show

We had the opportunity to participate in The Fifteenth Fashion Show this month at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, VA to showcase a few of our pieces from our collections.

Of course any fashion show is chaotic and crazy behind the scenes, but the show was great and we had an awesome time!

Creations by Janah (CBJ), Rekless Society and Millieroots were the three other brands who also showed off their spring/summer collections.

This was our very first fashion show EVER so we were nervous and excited. Backstage we were running around like crazy trying to get everything perfect, from the look, to the make up, to the hair! Our models were THEE BOMB.com and with the help of our wardrobe stylists, make up artists, hair stylist and choreographer we put on a pretty dope show for the audience.

The turn out was great and we want to send a HUGE CRAZE thank you to CBJ (Janah Stokes) and Millieroots (Nikko Arceta) for inviting us to be in the show.

Craze Spotlight: Rumors Boutique

Every time the Craze ladies visit Richmond, stopping by Rumors Boutique is always a must! It’s one of our fave boutiques and they always have one-of-a-kind and stylish pieces. The store has such a cool and unique atmosphere with hype music and crazy decorations.

We had the chance to sit down with the owners and they’re just as cool as their store! We met inside this cute little pub right down the street from the store for drinks and food.

They met in 2003 at a party and the next day had a lemonade stand to make enough money for Chinese food. They ended up becoming best of friends and after graduation decided to live off of pretzels and white rice to save up for their boutique.

They opened in 2007 and started out as boutique selling independent designer clothes from several different countries. They had lines from South Africa, Belgium, Finland, Tokyo and France. They would have real live bands play in their store and even sleep there sometimes. They would also throw parties and have fundraisers.

But after still being broke months later, the owners decided to revamp and transform the store into Richmond’s first thrift boutique. It was a success! They added consignment to the mix and Rumors Boutique became a HUGE hit for a shopping spot in Richmond.

Needless to say, their story is unique and quite similar to ours. We are all close friends and are willing to do anything and everything to bring our dreams to life. They gave us some great tips and advice to improving our business and making it successful.

Sitting down and picking their brains a little was great inspiration for us to keep working hard and keep our friendship and business strong.

Today on CNN, CNN Newsroom anchor Carol Costello had on this beautiful pink tie-neckline blouse, which is totally in this season.

We couldn’t catch Carol in this blouse but we did find a similar blouse:

Craze Ladies Attend BeadsbyAree 2nd Annual Fashion Show

Well, you know what they say… Better late than never right?

A few weeks ago Craze lady Destinee and I hit up the 2nd Annual BeadsbyAree Fashion Show at Lotus Lounge in Washington, D.C.

It was a great show and we were more than excited to see all the new dope designs that Areeayl Goodwin (the brilliant designer) had created.

Needless to say, we weren’t disappointed! Everything from long glimmering statement earrings to feather waist jewelry was there!

Singer GoGo Morrow and The Gogettes gave a great intermission show while the audience enjoyed drinks and laughs and danced to the music.

We don’t know about anyone else, but we had a great time. =)

Not to forget, Craze will be debuting our Craze edition to BeadsbyAree sooner than later, so keep an eye out.

REPORT CARD: 84th Annual Academy Awards

Last night marked the 84th Annual Academy Awards ceremony and of course there was fashion EVERYWHERE.

As always, we had to give you our report card on who we thought deserved an A for best dressed and who deserved a… well, you know.. not an A.

GWYNETH PALTROW in Tom Ford: GRADE A

Our girl showed up and showed OUT in a stunning white Tom Ford dress with a classy, yet unique cape. We love her classic and simplistic wrist wear and pulled back ponytail. Sometimes, less really is more. We love it Gwyneth!

EMMA STONE in Giambattista Valli: GRADE B

Miss Emma looked gorgeous on the red carpet in a Giambattista Valli gown. We absolutely love the large bow and how nicely and shapely the gown flows. But we honestly think it would’ve be a knockout A in emerald green.

VIOLA DAVIS in Vera Wang: GRADE C

We love us some Viola Davis but we had to give this dress a C. We fell in love with the color and silhouette and the asymmetrical bottom part of the gown BUT the breasts and sequin embellishments gave us TOO MUCH and not enough all at the same time. There’s nothing wrong with a little cleavage but the girls were sittin’! We know you still got it girl.

LOUISE ROE in Black Halo: GRADE D

Louise had us until… the bottom of the dress came into the picture. The color was amazing on her and we love the blazer like top as it transitions into an asymmetrical design but we think a plunging neckline would’ve done Louise more than justice, along with a simpler bottom half.

SANDRA BULLOCK in Marchesa: GRADE F

Let’s just get down to it… Sandra could’ve done better. A lot better. Although S.B has never really had the best award dresses, we thought she was almost there last year at the Golden Globe Awards in her Bottega Veneta gown. Yes to the train-like bottom and drop back. NO to the embellishments. Not to mention, does the top seem to fit a little strange to anyone else? But don’t get it twisted… We love you S.B!

THE UNDRGRND is a fashion and art event taking place on February 18th from 5pm to 9pm at MOCA DC. Therewill be an art exhibit by artist Sebastien Amisial and photographer Fresco. There will also be up and coming companies making tides in the D.C., Maryland, and Virginia area such as, Outspokn (A jewelry company specializing in bracelets), Flying Giraffe Vintage Company (A vintage clothing company), and Gen-XY (A vintage clothing company). Ari Lennox, a very talented up and coming artist, will be performing at the event as well as DJ Jon Deke.
